| Commission on Mountain Cartography, Lenk, Switzerland |
Feb 2008
| Given that hill shaded relief and topographic representation are such important aspects to our business, we took the opportunity to attend the 3 day Commission of Mountain Cartography meeting in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland this year. The CMC comes under the auspices of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and attracts many of the most respected mountain cartographers in the world. This year there were 15 countries represented and we had ample opportunity to study first hand the fine traditions of Swiss topgraphic mapping. This meet is held every two years in a different country. New Zealand is tentatively scheduled to host the CMC meeting in 2012. | |||

| NACIS annual conference, St Louis, Missouri |
Oct 2007

| GIS in the Rockies conference, Denver, Colorado |
Sep 2007
Geographx attended this conference as a guest of North-South GIS, a Denver based associate company of Explorer Graphics Ltd in Whitby. This was a chance to benchmark our dynamic 3D map and K2Vi's virtual reality platform against exhibitors from what is the capital of GIS in America. We were very pleased with the reception received, and are now working to confirm a possible pilot project to map Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in dynamic 3D with the assistance of the US National Park Service.. |
